Superior Mason acquired by Four Seasons Building Products

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Four Seasons Building Products (“FSBP”) announced the acquisition of Superior Mason Products (“SMP”), a leading manufacturer and distributor of patio and other related building products. The purchase marks the second acquisition this year, extending market share leadership to nearly 50%. FSBP is owned by Latium USA, one of the largest privately held manufacturers of outdoor living improvement products in North America.

Superior Mason has been an industry leader in the U.S. for over 70 years, with manufacturing facilities in Birmingham and branch locations in Raleigh, NC, Kansas City, MO, and Dallas, TX.

A 2015 merger between longtime Birmingham manufacturers and aluminum product distributors Mason Corporation and Superior Metal Products, respectively, —SMP’s branches will now be incorporated into the Four Seasons Building Products network.

The acquisition of Superior Mason Products represents a major milestone for FSBP’s parent company Latium USA, which acquired Metals USA in 2013 and formed the Four Seasons Building Products business, based in Holbrook, NY. Shaun Kennedy, CEO Latium USA, highlighted the progress, stating that, “We are committed to the outdoor products space and continue to grow both organically and through key, high-quality acquisitions. Our business has now tripled in the last two years. We will continue to look for a sensible combination of organic growth and acquisitions into the immediate future.”

Latium USA and its board were advised by Sphaeris Capital Management LLC, a specialist in add-on acquisition programs, middle market mergers & acquisitions, and proprietary investments globally. This investment marks Latium USA’s third acquisition and collaboration with Sphaeris Capital in a program to grow Latium’s residential and commercial building products platform.
